    WinIOError when saving "Options" changes

Any time I open the "Options" Dialog window and make a change to any one of the many properties and click 'OK' I receive the following exception message in the log (as well as a pop up error dialog). This has been happening since I installed NT a month ago. Kind of annoying although any changes I make seem to get saved anyway.

I am using the most recent version of NT and am running Vista Ultimate SP1.

I did try using the "mail to support" but that failed so I'm attaching the error here...

Not exactly sure what's going on, but in case you are running NT on a network drive then this may be of value: http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...ead.php?t=2441

I'm running NT from my local hard drive. I did a default install.

Hmm .. sorry, then I would not know what could cause that. There must be something special with your setup/machine, since we hadn't any similar reports so far. You probably could try it on a different machine in an attempt to isolate the cause of trouble...

I was able to identify the file in question, it is the config.xml file in the NT install folder. I suspect that I may have backup software running that could be causing a conflict. If I eventually figure this out I'll post the result.

Thanks for your feedback. Well, you certainly would need to ensure that no other software is accessing the NT files while is NT is operating.

Just FYI... I had this exact same error with both 6.5 and NT 7.
Turns out I also had the AVG anti virus software running.
When I turned off the AVG's "Resident Shield" feature (which checks accessed files real time) all problems went away.
However, it would be nice if NT support looked into this as this seems not a great solution to force users to turn off anti virus protection.

AFAIK, enhanced scanners would allow you to exclude the directories <my documents>/NinjaTrader 6.5 and <my documents>/NinjaTrader 7 from scanning and thus avoid the problem which they are causing.
