    Hello Crazyhorse2393,

    Thank you for your post.

See the options for adding a new instrument below. I prefer opening a chart and typing in the ETF name.

NinjaTrader comes pre-loaded with the most commonly traded instruments however, you may find the need to add an additional instrument. Please follow the instructions below to add an instrument in the Instrument Manager.
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
    • Press the "New" button
    • *Enter in instrument specific information and select the appropriate exchange (add Default exchange for equities in addition to the actual exchange)
    • Fill in any relevant information under the "Misc" tab such as symbol mapping for your target connectivty provider
    • Press the "OK" button
    * If you wish to add an equity, this can be accomplished without following the steps above. Just open a chart (for example) and start typing in the symbol and a new instrument is automatically created.
The instrument is now added to the master instrument list. Please follow the instructions below if you want to add this instrument to an instrument list.
    • Select the instrument list you wish to add the instrument to via the "Instrument lists" drop down list in the upper left hand corner
    • Select the exchange (Default recommend for equities) as this will route orders to your broker smart routing system
    • Select the appropriate expiration date if this is a futures instrument
    • Press the "<" button to add the instrument to the list
You are now complete and can press the "OK" button.

Thanks RJ, however when I tried to actually load the chart (IB is my broker) I got this message: "Error in requesting historial data from IB: No security definition has been found for the request(200)"

What does that mean and what do I need to do?

      Thanks

This means that there is no data from IB for that instrument, or your symbol mapping is incorrect.

-Test the instrument in TWS to make sure you get data.

I've tested the instrument in TWS and have data. What is the correct symbol mapping?

Can you tell me what ETF you are trying to get data for?

I was able to get data with "UCO" as symbol mapping for IB.

Try deleting the instrument from the Instrument Manager and then hit "NEW" to create a new instrument.

Use my screenshots to set up the UCO.

                  I guess we're getting there...

I have everything set up exactly as in your screen shots (thanks).

However, when I click on that ETF from the instrument list and try to load it the "Loading Data..." popup appears and acts normally, but it's not pulling the data through from IB (yes, I can pull data through on any other instrument). It just sits and sits and sits and never loads the data. For some reason the data still is not coming through. Any solutions?

Try the following and test the instrument between each step:
                    Please try repairing your database:
                    1. Go to Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB
Please try repairing your NinjaTrader Installation:
                    1. Shut Down NinjaTrader
                    2. Go to Uninstall Programs in the Windows Control Panel
                    3. Select NinjaTrader and hit the "repair" or "change" button and follow the instructions to repair the installation.
