Problems connecting to IB

    Problems connecting to IB

    I have problems connecting with the TWS.
    I tried almost everything I could find on this forum, but I still having problems.
    When I try to connect to IB, I get the Login screen with my accountname and password, then it tries again for 3 times and then I get the message: login failed: timeout on waiting for tws.

    I am running tws version 887.2

    hope someone can help me...

    Please try starting TWS first, then connecting through NinjaTrader.

        Please try the following:
        1.) Remove your connection: Tools --> Account connections --> (your created connection) --> remove.
        2.) Repair your database: Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB.
        3.) Restart NinjaTrader and create a new connection using the connection guide: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...tionguides.htm

          Thanks for the respond, I did that, but still problem, when I log in, tws will start and after 1 or 2 minutes tws will close and I get the login screen again

            Try logging into TWS outside of NinjaTrader. Once logged in, try connecting from within NinjaTrader.

              I stared first tws, and log in, then I start ninjatrader, go to file, connect. then I get the message: Another session with the same user name already exists.

                Please try restarting your PC and try connecting again.

                    Are you using a network drive?

                    Have you been able to connect to TWS before this issue? Are there any changes you have made recently to either TWS or NinjaTrader?

                      Had something similar until I realized to 'uncheck' the 'autologon' in the IB connection settings.

                        - Yes TWS and ninja trader are on the same machine.
                        - I am not using a network drive
                        - No I never was able to connect to TWS before

                        - I also have QuoteTracker installed on my computer, but also when quotetracker is not active I have the same problem
                        - Even when I uncheck the Auto-Login box in the properties in the IB connection settings, it will try to login the tws.

                          Does QuoteTracker use a Client ID of zero in regards to its connection to IB?

                          If so, please change this value and check if this will allow you to get connected in NinjaTrader.

                            No I already set that on Client ID=1

                              Please try uninstalling Quote tracker completely--> Try connecting NT and TWS.

                              If that doesn't work, try a complete uninstallation of TWS. Then reinstall from our connection guide for IB.

                              If it still won't connect, please send in a note to support AT ninjatrader DOT com. Put Ray Stein in the subject and reference this post. I will provide a call and remote login to further assist.
