Unique Identifier for trades through TT

We are currently connecting to TT in Ninja Trader to route our orders. Interestingly we have two possible account connections to the FIX Adapter. We originally thought that this meant that two traders could login to Ninja and their trades would be distinguishable from each other for recon purposes. GS set up the FIX Adapter so both sessions sign in with the same credentials.

They are currently working to correct the issue, but they asked and we are wondering if there is a "free-form" type field where we can identify different strategies/traders for recon purposes.

Also of note, one of the traders is using the SMTP connection from Tradestation to fire orders through Ninja. If there's a way to uniquely identify those orders from orders originating from a Ninja Strategy, please let me know.

Thanks,

Shiptastic

Hello Shiptastic,

Will both connections connect to the same live account? What will GS do to resolve the issue?

Unfortunately this is not supported on our end upon trading discretionary. However it is supported upon running automated strategies to use a signal name for the orders that the strategy will submit. More information can be found at the link below.

I'm very familiar with the signal name, however, once the order is placed through TT, hits the exchange, is filled, and returned to our TT Fill Recappers, the signal name is gone. There are, at the exchange, free form text fields that are returned to all parties. Do you have access to editing these fields in the order?

I've received the following from TT and GS...any ideas on how to do this?

To use a pass-through so any value supplied by the trader would be passed, you would use the following configuration. The trader will need to supply Tag 16102 with whatever value they choose.
FIX_FFT2=[TT_FFT2]
TT_FFT2=[FIX_FFT2]

Even if you hard code the value, the FIX Client will still need to supply tag 16102.

From GS:
They (NT) would just need to be able to pass a 16102 or 16103 tag.

It is not possible for users to define fix tags that are then sent to the TT Fix Adapter. All fix tags sent are hard coded in NinjaTrader and can't be changed or modified.
