    Market Depth in TDAmeritrade

I'm only getting one set of data for market depth in Super DOM for any stock. I'm using TDAmeritrade data, and I know I have access to Level II because their website says so and because I can get the Level II window to populate with more data. Whenever I look at the Super DOM properties box it says false for show market depth, so I hit reset to change it to true, hit "apply" and "OK," but when I check properties again, it's back to false with no market depth data.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Hello,

    Thank you for your note.

Try hitting "set default" after changing the setting and see if it sticks.

Thanks, RJS. I tried setting as default and when opened again I still get false for show market depth.

        Interesting....

Please try the following and test the issue in between steps:
        Please try repairing your database:
        1. Go to Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB
Please try repairing your NinjaTrader Installation:
        1. Shut Down NinjaTrader
        2. Go to Uninstall Programs in the Windows Control Panel
        3. Select NinjaTrader and hit the "repair" or "change" button and follow the instructions to repair the installation.
If that does not work, try renaming your database:
        1. Shut Down NinjaTrader
        2. Go to \Documents\NinjaTrader6.5\db
        3. Rename the file NinjaTrader.mbd to OldNinjaTrader.mbd

Let me know if any of the above solve the issue.

Nothing worked. The only thing interesting was that for the first two fixes show cummulative depth also read false when I hit properties, but after the third fix (the creation of a new mdb), it came up true but market depth was false. I reset to show market depth true and cumm depth false, set as default, and when openned again, all were false.

          So what now?

          And thanks again.

One more thing. When I made show market hi/lo true, it stuck. But when I did that, the properties box would not even let me change the market depth from false to true--it refused to accept true as an option. I was able to change cumm depth to true when hi/lo was also true, and that pair of trues also stuck. But it would not let me even enter true for market depth then. I assume market depth and cumm depth are mutually exclusive and both can not be true...is that right?

Incorrect, they can both be set to true.

What is your hardware setup? (What operating system are you using, 32 bit or 64 bit, using MAC?)

              Also try installing .NET 3.5 SP1: http://www.microsoft.com/NET/

I'm updating NET now. I'm running Vista 32 bit, and over the weekend, I downloaded a completely clean NT install to a different computer running XP and I had the same program.

As I think I mentioned, when I show cumm depth true, I can not even trigger the true option for market depth.

Well that was a painful process, and sadly, nothing has changed.

I'm not getting anthing in the way of depth.

Unfortunately this issue is expected as level 2 data is NOT supported in the SuperDOMs for STOCKS.
