Range question

I recently discover the range setting in the charts but I am not sure what it is or what it is supposed to do. Can anyone tell some more about it. Same goes for the volume and second setting. For instance, what does it mean to have a chart with a 4 range setting?

Hello lgarcia3,

Range bars will always have the same size. If you select an interval of 4 range, price candles will be 4 ticks of size. A new candle will only be formed until a price tick is received that would exceed the fixed range of the current bar.

A chart with a second interval will create a candle for each amount of seconds as per the interval value you use; volume charts for each amount of volume.

there seems to be some problem in the range bars. When i plot the range bars, that chart differs from my minute bar chart in terms of price values. suppose the high made today is 2770. The range bar will show 2740. There seems to be some issue here... pls explain

Can you please tell me what data feed provider you are connected to.

Try right clicking in both charts and select 'Reload Historical Data' and check if the High is similar.

Check your settings for the start and end dates for the download for each chart. make sure they both end on the same date.

i am trading the bund future and would like the range bar to be 0,05. It seems that only round numbers (1-2-3 etc.) is possible ?

I tried 0.05 and 0,05. Both return INVALID.

I believe Range bar Settings are in ticks.

Try the number of ticks that equal the desired values.

5 ticks is not the same as a range of 0,05

Hello beaker,

I am not sure if I follow. Our range interval uses ticks and not volume; you can create volume chart instead (set interval to volume upon creating a chart).
