ES data on auto - do not want it

I had a hard drive crash and had to reload NT

NT defaults to ES feed. I do not want ES and only have YM charts open and recording yet everyday NT records 4+ megs of ES data

    How do I stop this?

    Hello ATI user,

    Thank you for your post.

    Please take the following steps:

1.) Remove the ES instrument from your default list:
    • From the Control Center, click Tools > Instrument Manager.
    • In the Instrument Manager, select the ES 03-09 instrument from your default list and click the '>' button.
2.) Remove the ES instrument from the master list:
    • In the Instrument Manager, select the ES instrument from the master list and click Delete.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Would NT automatically request and record quotes of every instrument in its instrument list or it only do this on demand when an instrument is accessed by a chart or a script? Although I only use zen-fire to feed one ES chart but I have quite a lot instuments added to instrument list. I don't want NT waste CPU resource and bandwidth resource to process these unused instruments.

        Hello clearpicks,

The Market Replay utility will record data only for those instruments being displayed in an order entry window (such as the chart, superDOM and FX Pro window) or market analyzer window.

          Except in my case?

...took ES out of Default list solved issue....did not need to delete from Master List

Could it be the ES was selected in a workspace running in the background or selected in the Control Center itself. You must have received real-time data for the ES to have it recorded.

no ES charts, workspaces, market analyzers....nothing....never use it

how could it be "selected in the Control Center itself"?

                Hello ATI user,

                Thank you for your reply.

The instrument could be selected in the Orders tab of the Control Center. Basic order entry controls exist in this tab. If the instrument was loaded in this tab, the Market Replay utility would have captured data.

                  that makes sense

if NT default is ES or, more likely, the basic order starts alphbetically and the default list is alpha with ES on the top, then it will default to record ES.

since I removed the ES from the default list it no longer would be in the basic order window in the Order tab.

I note now that the YM 06-09 contract is selected

                  thanks for the clarification
