Backtesting Strategy after Unlocking and Editing

    NT,

After creating a locked Strategy, It backtests OK.

If I unlock and edit it, When I select it for backtesting, It tests the last locked strategy tested again, not the unlocked one I just edited and selected. The settings portion of the backtest display does not display the unlocked strategy settings.

I am unable to select and backtest any unlocked strategy that I have downloaded off the forum.

Can you verify this, am I doing something wrong?

    RJay,

Not sure what you mean exactly. Please try the SampleMACrossOver as that is an unlocked strategy. Please start fresh. Close your Strategy Analyzer and start anew. If your strategies share the same parameter names the settings will not change as you change strategies. You will need to make the changes to the settings you wish to use.

I edited and saved sampleMACrossOver under a new name. I closed and reopened Strategy Analyzer.

Now I have a new problem, This new strategy displays on the left side in the strategy listing, but is not available in the pulldown list on the backtesting popup menu.

I stopped and restarted NT. New problem is still there.

        rt6176,

You need to compile your code. In the NinjaScript Editor please press F5 to compile.

          Thanks,

Back to the original problem. See the attached image.

After selecting the "LaguerreCrossover" locked strategy, I then selected the unlocked "RangeMultiRanges2" strategy.

As you can see none of the settings updated. Even the settings "label" didn't change. It still displays "LaguerreCrossover".

            rt6176,

It appears you may have something corrupted. Please try reinstalling NinjaTrader. If a reinstall does not work you may need to do so while removing all of your old settings. To remove your settings you would need to delete the My Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5 folder. Please backup anything you want beforehand like data, workspaces, NinjaScripts ,etc.
