Stock symbols. Does anyone want to share?

I need to do some study on stocks. It seems that NT has very few of them out of the box.

I am sure there are people who solved that.

Can you share the import file or at least give a direction how to automate the task.

Surely typing few hundred symbols by hand is not the solution!

I am looking for LSE primarily, NYSE and NASDAQ would be greate too.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Here are two ways to do it that are faster:

Add a list of stocks all at once:

    Adding a stock "on-the-fly":

    - Open a DOM
    - Type the symbol of the instrument into the instrument field
    - Press Enter on your keyboard. This adds the instrument to your master list in the Instrument Manager, it is call on-the-fly.
    - Now follow this link to add the instrument your Default list:

Thank you Ben. I didnt know you import symbols only. I thought you need to supply a whole bunch of data for each of them (pricing and all)...

It makes it easier than I thought.

However there is still question - does anybody have symbols from LSE, NYSE, NASDAQ already. Surely symbols dont change very often.

And just out of curiosity - why NT doesnt supply them? This is trading platform innit? So let us trade.

        Hello,

NT supplies some symbols, but not all. Sorry.

To gain access to symbols you data feed will need to support them.

No problem. Once (if) I have a complete list - I am going to send it to you. Would you include it into the next release?

Data feeds are picky about futures, options, indexes. Stocks are most often coming in whole bunches. There is no reason not to include them. Plus it is easier to ignore a symbol than trying to add it just to find later it is not supported.

            Hello,

I suggest posting in our suggestion thread and we will forward it to our development team for consideration. That said, I know there are many improvements in the area of equities with the next version. The next version ETA is TBA.
