Forex data

Hi
Now that Mirus (Zenfire) does not supply free forex data anymore I have been trying " Gain" . This has not been successful as the chart does not seem to populate properly..a 100 tick bar on the Eur/Usd takes several minutes to complete during high volume. Any idea what the problem is..or if there are other data NT supported, free, providers I could try.

Try creating a Demo account for GAIN capital, this is free to use and gives you Live data:

Just checked, I can connect well to Gain / Forex.com - please try using the NinjaTrader historical data server in the Tools > Account connections setup.

Bertrand..I am not sure If I am missing something here? I have connected to Gain..but my charts do not appear to be populating correctly. This is the reason for this thread.

Hmmm....shouldnt the EUR/USD be trading right now?...my chart is not moving and the last bar finished at 4.15pm (US) on 27th. So no new data sice close of US trading session last week?? Any thoughts anyone...does gain actually have a live feed or is it just historical data?

AFAIK currencies are not traded over the weekend. However, I'm not sure. Please contact your broker to clarify.

I have a similar problem. I have a Gain account but for some reason one of the charts won't update. The date on it says 3/20/2009 on my 5 min chart, but it is updating for everything else. I tried deleting the historical data and reloading but to no avail.

What happens when you change the Start date? Can you change this to the 23rd for example.

Has everyone's problem with Gain been resolved? I just want to be prepared for any potential problems down the road.

FWIW, I've been trading in Sim mode while accessing the Gain data via the Ninja historical data server. I've been running this way for several weeks and haven't had a problem yet.
