Forex E-micro Futures

Hi,

It's possible to trade the Forex E-micro Futures with NinjaTrader/Zenfire?

Yes, but you have to create the symbol.
Setting up the Micro FX contract in NinjaTrader:

Disconnect from your data feed.

Open Tools > Instrument Manager and Click “New” (in the middle of the screen). This should open “Instrument Editor”


In the Definition tab:

Use These settings (example for the Euro. Regular is 6E, so mini is M6E. All contracts are the same except symbol)

Master Instrument: M6E
Instrument Type: Future
Tick size: 0.0001
Rollover Period: 3
Point Value: 12500
Sim feed… 0
Margin Value 0
Desc.. Euro MicroFX
URL: N/A

Exchanges: Globex


In the Misc Tab:

Scroll down under Symbol Map and at the very bottom, under Zen-Fire, click on the rectangle to the right and enter M6E.

Click OK


Find the M6E in the Available Master Instruments and click to highlight it.

Click on the top arrow, the one that faces left, to add it to the Default list.

Click OK, and you will be able to access it in your dropdown list.

Have added the instruments but when I try to load them I get an error message to effect that instrument not available on NT server no data available??

I get that same unfortunate message after I set it up as well, Lindsay. Now we just need to determine if it is something we have to take up with our broker who allows us access to our Zenfire data or whether it is a temporary issue with NT. My guess is we are going to find out we have to contact our individual broker to see if we can gain access to it for trading.

This just means that this instrument is not recorded on the NinjaTrader server, therefore you will NOT recieve historical data, but may receive live data.

That is correct, there is no live data for it either, still get the same NT data server error message.

You get live data with Zen-Fire - just use the DOM in combination with the chart of the larger instruments.

Christoph.. not sure I understand what you are suggesting. Are you saying that if we want to trade the micro version of the Eur/USD instead of charting the M6E we chart the regular 6E? And then we also cannot trade from the chart but must run a DOM for the M6E? I just put that situation live this evening and the bid/ask and last prices simply do not match up between the chart and the DOM.

Perhaps I have misunderstood you and you can make it more clear for me.
