Problem with zen-fire?

Dear all,

I am using the zen-fire demo to backtest my strategy with the FESX Future. I am able to obtain the data for 06/09, 03/09 and 12/08 contract. However I want to go back further in time to test the older contracts as well. When I try to retreive the data, e.g for FESX 09/08, I get this error message:

Please choose an instrument.

Is this because I am using the zen-fire demo or is it related to something else.

Can you please tell me your steps to retrieve the 09-08 data.

I created a FESX 09-08 instrument in the Instrument Manager, connected to the Zen-Fire demo and created a FESX 09-08 chart using a starting and end date that are included in the 09-08 contract.

You should be able to retrieve historical data for the FESX 09-08. Let me know if you not able to retrieve the historical data using my steps above.

I think I did it slightly different, but it should not have an impact. Instead of the start and end date I used the days back feature and specified 400 days.

Let me go exactly through your advice. I will come back to you later.

I did it your way and it worked. Unfortunately I can only go back to 04-09. Below this, it only shows "##-##" for the expiry date. Can I not go back further?

Thank you for your reply.

To go back further, you would need to set your PC's clock to a previous year.

This will enable you to select contracts prior to 04-08.

Hi Kyle,

thank you for the hint. I could construct the desired futures. When I try to load the data for the specified instruments it just works back to the 03-06 contract. It seems Zen-fire is not providing older data.

Do you know something about it?

Unfortunately we do not have listed how much historical data is available. If you do not receive data for contracts before 03-06, it is not avaialable.
