    V6 - Beta 8 Install failure

    Greetings,

I am new to NinjaTrader but like the potential I see in NinjaScript for strategy automation. Hope this is not a pilot error on my part.......

However, I was attempting to install Version 6 - Beta 8 on an XP-SP2 machine and received the following message

"The cabinet file '_C&A9C2908F57939F87169D5A483440' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, and error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

I have downloaded the installation package several times now with the same result, so am pretty sure it's not a network error or an error reading from the CD-ROM ;0)

    Best Regards,

    Jim

    Hello Jim:

    Thank you for your post.

Please uninstall and delete any previous NT 6 installers. Then, uinstall and delete any previous versions of NT 6 beta.

Next, delete your temporary internet files and temporary Windows files.

    Lastly, empty your recycyle bin.

Then, try the download again from here:

    http://www.ninjatrader.com/web/download_version6.htm

If you need specific instructions on deleting temp windows or internet files, then private message me at [email protected] Put Attn: Ryan in the subject line.

    Best regards,

I'm also getting a corrupt CAB file error. I've deleted all temporary files and removed previous versions.

        Hi,

If you receive the 'Corrupted Cabinet file' error you need to clear your browser cache and then try the download again.

Open up Internet explorer and click Tools--> Internet Options--> Delete Cookies and Files.

        Now try the download again.

          OK....

Removed all previous installations from Control Panel.

          Removed all \Program Files\Ninja* directories

Deleted all files not being accessed from \Windows\Temp

Deleted all temporary internet files via IE Tools.InternetOptions

          Emptied recycle bin.

          Downloaded fresh copy of installation.

          And it worked

Thanks for the help - Now off to import my tik data.

Ok, deleting the cookies is what did it. Just doing the temporary files wasn't enough.

            Thanks for the help!
