my problem is with NJ functions SetTrailStop and SetProfitTarget , seems I have to code these functions to avoid this issue. thanks

There is no update at this time, but we are still tracking this feature request. Typically, there is no update on a feature until it is implemented into the platform. You'll find features that are added in the release notes.

No worries. I hope they listen. Ninjatrader would be a better piece of software if our prayers are heard.

    I know.

    I'm probably way off.

Nonetheless, these types of useless popups are seen as beneficial by the company.

    Apparently.

This is only rejected orders, new software announcement popups we are talking about. I do not see how anybody could sue for not getting a popup on these events.

The software announcement at startup is the worst of all. A simple email could do rather than annoying and messing with your daily trading.

    I know.

I've wondered before if legal counsel has advised them not to implement this feature.

The fear of getting sued by someone who loses everything and blames it on Ninjatrader and the lack of warnings from their software (such as what these popups provide) could have been very great for a young trading software company just starting out.

That fear could have been: the user would sue NinjaTrader for harmful interference between them and their broker (despite the fact the user had to deliberately disable the popups) and could have resulted in costly litigation, even if NinjaTrader ultimately won.

Or perhaps upper mgmt (aka Ray) was privately aware of cases where other trading software companies were sued for similar reasons, and decided to avoid that exposure by keeping these popups in place.

Regardless of the true underlying reasons, I doubt this request will ever be implemented.

I work in the software industry. I've seen simple change requests (like this feature) that users clamor for remain ignored by upper mgmt for years.

These small things have no bling, no payback, no marketing check-boxes that justify the cost of sitting a college intern down and doing these simple software changes -- and then the testing of those software changes, the changes to the documentation -- well, that all costs money.

In the language of management, the cost-benefit analysis has not shown itself to be beneficial for the company. At least, that's been the case for the last 10 years.

    Darn it.
