TF symbol stops updating bid/ask values

    hello!

I encountered a scenario where TF symbol in NinjaTrader is not updating while other symbols are updating normally.

this occur in the middle of the trading day. my only way to recover is by disconnecting NinjaTrader from IB/simulated data feed and reconnecting it.

do you have any idea what might have happened?

    thanks.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

1.) Does this happen at the same time every day?

2.) Were you able to see if the prices continued to update in TWS?

      Hi! Thanks for your reply.

Im not sure if this happens at the very same time of the day. we just noticed it these past few days...

price are continuously moving in TWS but not in NinjaTrader. That is why we need to reconnect to recover NinjaTrader.

Can you try Tools--> Historical Data--> Reload.

Does accessing NinjaTrader AT dll functions at every second can possibly cause this problem?

btw, we are still experiencing this problem.

          thanks.

Hi alpha1 - first of all please make sure you're using TWS version 892 with NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.9 - http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ivebrokers.htm

Next, it's hard to judge which issue is at play here I doubt its due to the ATI functions. It would be best you contact us at support at ninjatrader dot com and include your trace and log files for review (you can find those in the MyDocuments > NinjaTrader 6.5 > trace / log folders). Thanks!

              hello again.

we have updated our TWS to Build 893.9a and our NinjaTrader version is 6.5.1000.9(Live).

Sadly, we are still experiencing the problem just a few minutes ago before this post with one of the symbols.

We tried NinjaTrader_Vincent's suggestion but it did not work. The symbol is still stuck and not updating values.

                Hi,

NinjaTrader does not support that version of TWS.

Please uninstall that version and install TWS 892 from this link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ivebrokers.htm

ok. sorry, I misunderstood the previous responses. I thought getting the latest version was enough. I did not realize that IB mentioned a specific TWS build version of 892.

I'll try this again and hope everything would be fine after that.

                  Thanks again guys.

The same problem occured again. TWS is build 892.7 and NinjaTrader is 6.5.1000.9.
We had 2 instrument in a position and 1 instrument stopped updating price values again.

didn't anyone experienced/reported a problem similar to this?

The most common reason I see for this is that people are using up too many CPU resources.

Please use the following link for some performance tips: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...anceTips1.html

-Also try using less charts, other windows if possible if you computer is near the minimum requirements:
                      • Minimum PC Requirements
                      • Windows XP or Windows Vista Operating System *
                      • Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768
                      • Minimum P4 Processor or higher
                      • 1GB RAM or higher on XP and 2GB or higher on Vista
                      • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (pre-installed on most PCs or can
                        be downloaded below)
                      * 64 Bit OS is not currently supported

fortunately our machine is way above the minimum PC Requirements.
                        - Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz
                        - 3GB RAM
                        - WIndows XP 32bit
                        - MS .Net Framework 2.0 installed

what else could be the possible reason? could it be a threading issue?

                        thanks for the quick reply.

                          Hi alpha1,

Chris is working on an email with the same request. I am assuming that you sent this into our email support as well?
If so, please check those instructions on testing with your custom 'DLL' program turned off and see if you have the same issue.
