    Zen-Fire Connection

    Hi All,

    Greetings!

I am very new to NT, just installed it and got Zen-Fire's trial data feed.

I struggled to see any chart on NT :-(

I was able to connect to Zen_fire, just followed the instructions and I was able to connect. Thats all I was able to do.

I do not know how to process from here! I am seeking your kind help in finding answers to the following questions which are kicking my brain:

    a) How to get list of stocks from Zen-fire?
    b) There is a textbox in "instrument manager" to provide URL, what URL we can use?
    c) How to create tree view or just grid view of favourate stocks in the main window of NT?

    I appreciate your help!

    Regards
    techTD

    Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

Zen-Fire only provides Futures data. Stock data is not provided.

Please see here for an overview of our providers:

      Thanks

      Thanks for your reply Vincent!

How do I fetch future data then, after connecting to Zen-Fire. Think the process will be same for stock data as well!

      Regards

        Hi,

We already have set up some Futures by default in the Static SuperDOM. If you open it up you will see them listed in the instrument list.

To open up a Static SuperDOM go to File--> New--> Static SuperDOM.

If you want to add Futures to your default list please take a look here:

          Thanks again!

What do we put in URL field at Instrument Editor screen in case of Zen-Fire?

What instrument are you trying to add? What is the symbol?

The URL can stay empty and is not really required. It's usually a URL from the website where you find the instrument specifications.

I am trying to add UK stock/futures... for example FTSE 100 index, RIO Tinto etc.

The FTSE 100 is listed in the Instrument Manager under the symbol 'Z'.

I'm not familiar with the RIO Tinto, you need to add this manually to the instrument manager. Do this in both the Instrument Editor's Definitions and Misc tab. Contract specifications should be listed on the exchange's website where the contract trades.

                  One last question!

Is this adding process same for stocks as well?

You can set up Stocks the same way. However with Stocks, when you type in the symbol in the order entry window such as the SuperDOM or Chart, data should come in automatically and then the Stock info is also listed in the Instrument Manager. You can only do this when you are connected to a Stock data provider.

What you can do as well is to import a list of Stock symbols:
