    Open Tick data feed

How do I use Open Tick data?

If anyone is using what is your experience.

I am using IB now, looking for something better.

    Thanks, Alex

    Alex,

Make sure you are using NT6 Beta 9. If you do not have have an OpenTick account, please visit their website to create an account.

Within NT select Tools > Account Connections, follow the wizard.

OpenTick is currently a free service and has more historical tick and minute data than IB.
Their historical data does have data gaps in it and bad ticks (spikes) all of which they are working on to improve. Download speed of historical data can be extremely slow.

      Check up Open Tick

Just following up after a few months. Has anyone used Open Tick and what have your results been.

I'm really getting sick of IB and their pacing violation, it sounds like I'm back in VietNam with all those rifle shots going off.

There has got to be a better way.

We have quite a number of users on OT feed. So far we have not had any negative feedback. Something to be aware of -

        - We do not support level II data for OT
        - They do have data gaps and spikes here and there
        - Historical data requests can take some time (not too much different from the speed you are used to with IB)

          Open Tick

I am trying out open tick as a data feed. I can create new charts and time and sales windows and they are updating real time. However any superdom I create does not populate with any data. The chart trader is fine.

Any ideas how to resolve this ???

          Thanks

            Hi Yeneuro,

This is not supported. You will see no data in the DOM. What you can do is take a look at the Orders tab of the Control Center. Data is displayed there.

              Open Tick

              Thank you.

Would there be any issue in connecting to 2 data feeds at the same time ?? NT seems to accept the connections and I was wondering whether this was ok.

                Hi,

This is no problem. With NT you can connect to multiple datafeed providers at the same time. Just be aware that the one you connect to first will be your main datafeed supplier.

A list of and connecting to all our different datafeed providers can be found here:
