Stochastic Momentum Index (SMI) - colors

I'm fairly new to ninja coding but I"m trying. I've added a zero line to this indicator but I'm having trouble changing the SMI line from a constant green color to a "blue when rising, red when falling".

I've attached the cs file below..

I've looked at the code for samplemulticolorplot but when I try to adopt the same concept to this indicator, I'm messing something up.

If this is simple to do, could someone please correct the code and repost it.

On the SMI1, I want to add an up blue arrow when the SMI line crosses through the zero line and a down red arrow when the SMI line crosses down thru the zero line.

Can someone show me how to do that?

I've downloaded the trix indicator and looked at the code. Should I copy the drawarrow code sections into the SMI indicator that you helped me with and then substitute the name of my indicator for Trix?

Yes, try it. I copied the code from somewhere else I think you have to make sure the input parms are corrected.

Does this one color the candles based on SMI rising or falling?
Does this one plot blue arrows when it breaks above -40, etc?

Those are the things I'm trying to get done right now.

This is an SMI ind. that will plot in it's own panel. It has color color alert line
and you can change the crossing lines as you wish. It also has up and down directional arrows and an alert signal. It will not change candle colors.
I changed the alert lines to + and - 1.5 and was using the indicator for trend verification.

SMI with Alerts 1195

I have been using this indicator, and like it. But, I'm not really sure what it is doing. The SMI index formula is usually, "SMI(q,r,s) = 100 * (EMA(EMA(SM[q])[r]))[s] / 0,5*(EMA(EMA(HighestHigh[q]-LowestLow[q])[r])[s])

This is a fairly common momentum oscillator type of formula. But what is the SMI_1195 doing? I'm not good at reading the code to figure it out. Can anyone help?
