Problem bringing up ZW..?

Hi,

I've been able to run backtests on ZC 05-09. (IQfeed is my data feed.)

I then started trying to run on ZW 05-09... but it's coming back as symbol invalid. I can bring up ZW 05-09 in a chart just fine, however. It's only in the backtest that it fails.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your post.

Can you please reset your instruments with the steps I have provided below.

• Go to Control Center
• Tools
• Options
• Misc tab
• Reset Instruments
• Ok

Next I will need you to remove the ZW instrument and add it back into your default list with the steps I have provided below.

• Control Center
• Tools
• Instrument Manager-->select your ZW contract in your Default list
• Click the > arrow to remove from your Default list
• Search for the ZW instrument in the Available Master Instruments
• Select the ZW contract in the Available Master Instruments panel
• Set expiry to 05-09
• Set Exchange to Globex Click the < arrow to add back into your Default list
• Click OK

Once you have successfully added the instrument back in please let me know if the issue persists.

Uhm, I have over 300+ instruments that I've had to add into the instrument manager. I really don't want to delete them all (if that's what "reset instruments" does).

Any ideas?

Wait... it's only trying to load *daily* data that fails. Loading minute data seems to work fine.

I've now confirmed trying to load daily ZW 05-09 in the charts also fails. ZC 05-09 works fine...

Is that to be expected?

IQFeed gave me an answer on this one. They've "expired" the daily numbers for ZW on the expired contract, but no on ZC.

But the good news... I didnt' realize there was a "##-##" expiration... when selecting this, it gives me the front-month future going back 2.5-6 years. Beautiful!

Thank you for your reply.

The ZW daily data is only available using the continuous contract.

To add the continuous contract you will need to select ##-## as the expiry from the drop down window when adding the ZW instrument to your list.
