NT crashes the first time

    NT crashes the first time

    NinjaTrader is non responding the very first time I start the program after re-boot. the second time opens fine. This happens on both my Dell machines...Any fixes?

    Hello designer,

    Could it be you have Asus Utilities installed on your PC? Please see the forum thread below.


    Other customers reported the same issue; NinjaTrader only started correctly the second attempt, never the first attempt. They had Asus Utilities in common.

      They both are Dell Factory shipped machines....

          This is the utility I have installed.
          "Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility"



          Please download and test in NinjaTrader at the dev center from link above to see if that is the cause.

            Hello designer,

            Could you please send me your log and trace files for today after you attempted to start NinjaTrader unsuccessful the first time, but successful the second attempt. You can find these files at the following locations:

            Start Menu--> My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> Log--> log.20090603 for today. (log.yyyymmdd for any other date)

            Start Menu--> My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> Trace--> trace.20090603 for today. (trace.yyyymmdd for any other date)

            Please send them to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com, reference this forum thread and put 'Attn Jason' in the subject header.

              I had a similar start up problem to this. I found that if I disconnected any connections before closing Ninja I would have issues starting it the next time.
              So I now close Ninja while still connected and this seems to have cured the start up problem.

              Not sure if this is peculiar to me or if it may help others.

                Also...I will try closing NJ with no Workspaces open and will let you know.

                  I closed NJ with no Workspace other than Blank Default open, saved, re-boot and re-started NT and it opened fine.
                  Jason please check for errors the workspace sent via email support...

                    Unfortunately the trace file did not list any errors regarding a workspace; they did not list any error at all.

                      Hi Designer

                      No, my machine is not a Dell.

                      I always thought it good practice to close connections before exiting NT and it took me a while to realise that if I did disconnect first it would cause problems on start up, it often took more than two attempts!

                      Mine is not to reason why...

                        I removed and re-installed Microsoft .NET Framework and seems the problem is gone...
