    merging data

    Hi I have attempted to merge the 0906 NQ data with that of the current contract..while a merg has occurred it is corrupt. The data from March 30 to June 10 is compressed into day bars but the data each side is 200 tick bars..please advise.

    Hello lindsayf,

    I suggest to open up a NQ 09-06 chart and check if the data from March 30 to June 10 is the same of the the merged NQ 09-09 chart.

    If it is the same, the outcome is as expected.

        why does the data in the current contract start at 30 March with day bars (on a 200 tick template) to 10 June? Shouldnt the data simply start on June 11?

          Ok, please open up a NQ 09-09 chart as well.

          Perform the merge once more. Once the merge is finished close both charts and open up a new NQ 09-09 chart. Ensure it uses session start and end dates that will include the merged data and check if the data is merged.

            In response to post #4, it must seem as a daily bar, since one bar is displayed per day. However, it indicates that these day have less than 200 ticks.

            If you merged data from March 30th to June 10th, the data should begin at March 30th.

                just regarding this..without any merging the data on the 0909 contract starts on march 30....?

                  I am not sure about the exact date, but I believe the ES 09-09 started trading around the beginning of April.
