Can't get rid of annoying Alert sound

    Hi,
I wrote my own indicator and put in an Alert like this:
    Alert("myAlert", NinjaTrader.Cbi.Priority.High, "Reached threshold", "Alert1.wav", 10, Color.Black, Color.Yellow);

I got tired of hearing the alert so took it out of the code. Still sounded.

Then I removed the charts that had the alert in them. Still sounds.

I still get that alert sound (when it crosses whatever threshold) with NO CHARTS at all

I'm apparently getting a "Reached Threshold" alert, whatever that is, but I don't know where it's coming from.

    Thanks for any help.

    henryj,

Please go to File->New->Alerts and remove the active Alerts from there.

In File>New>Alerts I don't see any option for removing the alert.

Right clicking any of the (Instrument, Priority, Time, Message) tabs, or messages themselves, only yields the following options:
      Reset
Filter By Priority (High, Medium, Low)
      Send To
      Print
      Export
      Email Image
      Save As
      Grid Properties

How do I remove the source of the alert?

Please press Reset and that should do it. If not, please try restarting NT.

I did try pressing Reset. It cleared the alert log, but more alerts came.

I removed all charts, saved the workspace, and restarted NT. Still got them.

I created a completely new workspace, saved, restarted NT. Still got the sounds.

Here's something funny though. When restarting NT I had a couple of those pop up "Retrieving Data" boxes, even though I had no charts in my workspace.

I did this a couple more times and watched as NT loaded. During the loading process the names of several of my past work spaces were mentioned. So, even though I should have had only a clean new workspace loading, I was apparently getting something from some of the past ones.

Finally, I went to the directory of work spaces and removed all but the clean one. I also edited _Workspaces.xml, removing everything but the clean one. No more sounds (so far so good anyway).

Can you explain how NT handles loading work spaces, and why it drags in bits of old ones?

            henryj,

What has likely happened is that you had the alerts running in one of your workspaces that was still open in the background. When you press Workspace and open one it will remain open. If you then go open another one it will just place the first one in the background and you can switch back and forth between them. You have to actually close the workspace for it to not be loaded.

              Wow,
I had no idea that -feature- was available. I'm sure you're right about how it happened.

NT is a really great piece of software. Thanks!
