    One Second Chart Update Method???

    NT,

    I have been using a one second chart to monitor the market. I am watching ES.

    Here's my question, When the market is slow, there are seconds where no trades take place. It appears that there is no update to the chart for those seconds.

    Why is there not a flat line of the close of the prior bar for that second?

        I tested the ES 09-09 while connected to Zen-Fire on my end, but the outcome was as expected, see screenshot.

        Please double click the chart and check what setting is used for 'Display update interval (SEC)'.

          NT,

          Its right there on your chart.

          7:31:54 four bars later 7:33:21

          Instead 4 seconds its over 80 seconds.

          Please explain why this is happening.

            I see, can you please try the following. Close NinjaTrader and synchronize your PC.

            You can sync your PC clock by double clicking on the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop. Once you have done that, click on Internet Time tab and then click Update. Your PC clock should now be updated.

            Start NinjaTrader and connect to Zen-Fire. Create a brand new ES 09-09 second chart and check if the issue persists. If so, please right click in the chart and select 'Reload Historical Data' and check once more.

              I will try this later today.

              Did this fix the problem on your PC? the one you posted your image from?

                      Hello RJay,

                      I tested once more this morning and I experienced the same behavior.

                      I consulted with Development and unfortunately this is as expected; you will not see a bar if there are no ticks for that second.
