    Merging Data

I merge the data while disconnected successfully but as soon as I connect to IB, NT downloads the data from IB and the merge is gone :-( What can I do? Thx in advance!

    Hello flxxx,

You will need to ensure NinjaTrader will not load historical data from IB that will overwrite the merged data.

Please see the link below on how NinjaTrader loads historical data.

Merged data is located in the database.

      Thx!

      NinjaTrader will load data when:
      • “Format Data Series” contains the current day
Does that mean that its impossible to merge contracts together when I want to see the current trading day?

Please perform the following steps after you merged the data.

Open up an ES 09-09 chart that will contain the merged data. Once the chart is opened, subsequently connect to Zen-Fire and it should contain the merged data as well as incoming real-time data.

I´m with IB and not with Zen-Fire and I´m working on th Dax. I have a merged chart, once I connect, the merge is overwritten by IB data. I can´t find a solution

Can you please try the steps as per post #4.

Once you merged the data, open up a chart for the merged data.

            Subsequently connect to IB.

I have a chart of the merged data open of course, to check if I have continuing volume to see if the merge was successfull. Once I contact to IB, all charts are updated with fresh data. The merge is gone.

I tested once more, with IB and it worked on my end.

I merged 6/10 to 6/17 of the YM 06-09 into the YM 09-09.

Once I performed the merge, I opened a YM 09-09 chart and checked if the data was merged, which was the case.

Subsequently I connected to IB. For a brief period the chart is blank, but once data appears, it still listed the merged data. I checked the volume on 6/11, which was the same as the YM 06-09 and not the same as the original ES 09-09.

You´re right it worked now! My fault was that I still had "365 days back" in the "Format Data Series" Screen. Thank you!
