buy stop contingency order - how ?

    hey,

in other trading platforms I can easily place a buy stop order,
to go long a position. (or the opposite sell stop order)

so when I only want to buy on a breakout/pivot, I can place this order
above the current price. and then IF the price moves up to
that level, my order is fille. I haven't figured out how this is
    accomplished in NinjaTrader.

    Can you enlighten me ?
I thought it would be more obvious....

    thanks,

    tedm

    Hello tedmic,

    Thank you for your post.

Within the SuperDOM to submit a Stop Limit Order this will be done using the Middle Mouse Button (scroll wheel) and for a Stop Market Order you will want to use Ctrl+Middle Mouse Button.

I have included a link below that goes over submitting orders within the SuperDOM.

If you are using the Chart Trader you will simply Right click within the chart and choose either a Stop Limit or Stop Market Order from within the window.

I have included a link below to our Help Guide that goes over submitting orders using the Chart Trader.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Been trying to make this work

I, too, want to be able to place a buy or sell stop entry order from within the DOM. I can NOT do so. I have set the DOM parameter associated with activating the middle mouse button to "TRUE".

When I control-click the middle mouse button on the ladder, all I get is a little image of a magnifying glass. Cute, but not in the least bit helpful. What's going on here? (BTW, right clicking on a chart when in chart trader mode works fine for me, so I can enter my stop entries that way, but I would prefer to use the DOM).

Weston, it sounds like you would need to take a look at your middle mouse button property settings in the Windows Control Panel, please make sure it's set to be connected with a 'click' event and not the magnifying glass you get currently.

          middle button solves my problem

          Thanks Christopher.
It was simple enough and works with the middle mouse button
as you say. The documentation link was helpful too.
