    IB - "Saving" never completes

    Hi,

I can connect IB and can get daily data but for the last couple weeks cannot get intraday data. Everything worked 2 weeks ago..

    So far:

    - I rolled back TWS standalone service
    - reset instrument list
    - upgraded to the lasted Ninja software

attached is a screen shot of where I am getting stuck

    Hi Cindy,

    Thank you for your post.

1.) Does this occur with all instruments or just a specific instrument?

2.) What version of Interactive Brokers' TWS are you using? You will need to be using version 892.7. If you do not have this version, please install from the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...ivebrokers.htm

      IB - "Saving" never completes

      Hi,

      It happens with all instruments

      I am running version 892.7

I tried to remove ninja trader completely and reinstall but it just restored everything so I am back to the same problem.

        IB - "Saving" never completes

This worked fine a couple weeks ago for about a month. I read the connection instructions then and read them again.. Still "Saving" forever...

          Hello cctrade,

          Thank you for your reply.

Do you see any errors listed in the log tab of the Control Center?

Has anything on the system changed lately?

I upgraded TWS and then had to roll back to the correct version to work with Ninja

Attached is the most recent log file:

            the last 2 messages:
            -IB Globals MessagLoop msg= 17
-Requested market data is not subscribed. 354

I get all realtime quotes and data in sierra charts for the few small symbols I am requesting..

            YM
            ZB
            ES
            ZN

I am no longer using sierra.. The point about sierra charts is that I used to get at least 15 days of intraday data on the same set of symbols.

                Hi Cindy,

                Thank you for your reply.

1.) Can you try disconnecting from IB, reseting your instrument list using the steps below?

To reset the instrument list: From the Control Center, click Tools > Options > Misc Tab > Reset Instruments.

After doing so, test the chart to see if you now recieve historical intra-day data.

2.) You mentioned that everything was working about two weeks ago. Have there been any recent system changes?

                  I remember:

adding DJIA from a list somewhere of IB symbols

added a few symbol lists on top of the default list

TWS upgraded itself and I had to roll it back..

Is there a way to start all over? Is there a way to completely remove ninja trader and reinstall without restoring?

                    Hi Cindy,

                    Thank you for your post.

Please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader:
                    1. Close all running applications.
                    2. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
                    3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 6.5 and click Remove.
                    4. Then manually delete the folder "NinjaTrader 6.5" located under Start --> My Documents.
                    5. Delete any NinjaTrader installation files. This can be done by going to Start --> My Computer --> Search button --> search for (NinjaTrader*) --> select Local C Disk and then press search.
                    6. Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
                    7. Reboot your machine.
                    8. Once these steps are completed, download NT6.5 from the link below:
                      Download
Please let us know if you are able to get up and running after the reinstall.

Deleting and installing again fixed the problem ..
