Chart refresh delay with Heiken Ashi

In one of my charts [20 tick] I just started using, and prefer, the NT system Heiken Ashi indicator, but I noticed recently that when I need to edit any option in the indicator panel and hit apply/OK, it takes a full minute for the chart to refresh. Basically, hitting F5 takes forever on this chart. I have other indicators in this chart but I narrowed it down to the NT HeikenAshi.

I tested with another type of HA, the Heiken Ashi[smoothed] and it behaves the same way.

I tested with a third, Modified Heiken Ashi and it refreshes instantly.

The first two seem to "paint" over the bar and the third doesn't look like it does.

I also believe that this must be the reason why my Ninja takes forever to load in the AM.

Any ideas of what's going on and how to speed things up or is that just the nature of the indicator?

    Thanks,
    V.

VinnyB, this is unfortunately expected for the current Heiken Ashi implementation, it'll be overhauled for our upcoming NinjaTrader 7 offering better performance - http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/NT7/NinjaTrader7.html

Thanks Bertrand. That's great news as I thought I was going to hear that it's my pc.

Then this has nothing to do with enabling or disabing "store real time data"?

      Thanks again!

        Hi VinnyB,

        Thank you for your reply.

Correct, this is not effected by your Store Real-Time Data settings.
