New Ninja License Key

So to go live you have to at least lease the live version from NinjaTrader for $50 a month? Do any brokerages handle this cost for you?

Yes, in order to have full access to all features of NinjaTrader you will be required to purchase or lease a live NinjaTrader license key.

The only exception to receive a full version of NinjaTrader for free is when trading Forex with GAIN Capital/Forex.com.

Some brokers do offer a Free Direct license key but you will not have access to the ATM Strategies, OCO Orders, Strategy Wizard, Market Replay, etc.

I had a strategy developed by a programmer. I also have a direct access license from my broker. Will the strategy execute correctly with this license? So I don't need strategy development functions, just the ability to run an existing strategy. It appears it will let me run it, but before I risk money I want to be sure of this configuration.

Unfortunately not, the Free Direct license does not include the functionality to run automated strategies as well.

What is the easiest way to get more historical data to test with?

It depends what you're after.

Best is to select a provider that has a few years back of historical data available.
