    This request can not be aborted forever

    I am trying to backtest my strategy. But, I have a message, " This request can not be aborted." forever, and never get the result.

    I reinstalled Ninja software. But, this backtest freezing never ends. I don't know what is going on.

    I also tried to email technical support. But, I can't send email to tech support too.

    What kind of time frame are you trying to load on what data provider? I recommend you first try pulling up a chart with the dates you want to backtest on then disconnect from your data provider before trying to run the backtest. This way the backtest will just pull data from your database which will go much faster.

      Chart is loading Data forever too

      Thank you for quick response. Ok, I tried to pull data from chart. But, chart is
      also showing message, "Loading Data. " forever, and never ends. It looks like
      it has a problem pulling data from broker.

      I am using Ninja for a few monthes. It was ok until this morning. I erased all data, and software, and reinstalled. But, it still has a problem downloading data.

        What data type are you pulling and from what data feed? Some feeds may just take awhile to load.

          I use 1 min ES mini data from Interactive brokers. Both chart and backtest fail to download data from the broker.

          I am still running chart downloading, and still shows the message, " loading data."

          It happened this kind of slow downloading before. But, it usually resolved later. But, it never ends since this morning.

              Java Version 1.6.0_11

              After pressing abort button, It only shows last few hours of data after reinstalling Ninja software in the chart. Chart is giving current data with no problem. It means current data is showing good in the chart.

                I would need to know the Traders Workstation version of the IB software you are using instead of the java version installed on your machine.

                Should be in Help --> About and the Build number.

                  I am sorry. I believe it is build 886.5, Aug 11, 2008. is that what you mean?

                    It is critical that you use version 892.7 of Interactive Brokers' TWS.

                      After getting a hint from you guys, I upgraded TWS, and restart computer, now I am getting historical data with no problem. Thank you very much for your help. I solved this problem!
