How can I...have an ATM for BOTH a long and short entries

Kind of like a OCO bracket entry instead of a OCO bracket exit.

One ATM entry to go long, and the same ATM to go short, at different prices.

When one of them gets triggered, the other is cancelled.

The one that gets triggered sets up the exit OCO brackets per its parameters.

    Is this possible?

    Hi Turtle Trader,

    Thank you for your post.

Yes, this is possible. Please take the following steps:
    • Right click in the SuperDOM and select the menu "OCO Order" to enable this function
    • For your first order, select the desired option from the "ATM Strategy" drop down list
    • Submit your stop order to buy above the market
    • For your second order, select the desired option from the "ATM Strategy" drop down list
    • Submit your stop order to sell below the market
    • CRITICAL Right click in the SuperDOM and select the menu "OCO Order" to disable this function

        Hello,

Yes, you can enable the oco for chartrader by right clicking on the charttrader panel on the right and doing the same thing.

          doesn't work

I get an error message on the chart.

You can't submit an exit order to a strategy until any of its entry orders has been filled.

I'm looking at a range...if it breaks out to the top, I want to go long.

If it breaks out at the bottome, I want to go short.

So, I want two entry orders, one for long and one for short...

Do I need to set the OCO before I place the first entry?

I set the OCO after placing the first order.

            Hi Turtle Trader,

            Thank you for your reply.

This indicates that you did not re-select your ATM Strategy template before placing the second order.

Worked like a charm on the chart:

              1. Select your strategy
              2. Place your Buy stop
              3. Select your strategy again
              4. Place your Sell Stop

              Thanks!

                  Klaus,

This would not be supported from AtmStrategyCreate().

                      Hello dennho,

Can you please tell me what exact option you refer to with 'breakout mode'. Could you please post the link of the Help guide that displays this option as well.

This link. Was this some old version of NT, and the help section never updated to reflect it?

Yes, this is a link to an old Help guide section. Please see the current Help guide at the link below.

The option is replaced by 'OCO order'.

One of the great features of NinjaTrader is its ability to submit two entry orders, one which will cancel if the other is filled.

You can accomplish a breakout/breakdown approach by:
                          • Right click in the SuperDOM and select the menu "OCO Order" to enable this function
                          • For your first order, select the desired option from the "ATM Strategy" drop down list
                          • Submit your stop order to buy above the market
                          • For your second order, select the desired option from the "ATM Strategy" drop down list
                          • Submit your stop order to sell below the market
                          • CRITICAL Right click in the SuperDOM and select the menu "OCO Order" to disable this function
For a market fade approach just subsitute limit orders for stop orders.
