figuring commision costs into control center trade results

    Hi,
I am a little unclear on how exactly to go about incorporating the commission information into the profit/loss calculations in the control center information. For instance if the roundtrip commission is $4.40 on a ESZ9 contract, how do i go about setting this up ?

Additionally, Is it possible to pull up the all the trade information at the end of year from Ninjatrader ?

    Thanks,
    sm

    Hello satbirm,

    Thank you for your post.

Please use the steps I have provided below to set commissions for the ES.
    • Tools
    • Instrument Manager
    • Search for ES
    • Select ES
    • Edit
    • Misc. tab
    • Next to your data provider click on the +
    • Click on the ... next to No commission leveles defined
    • Configure your commissoin as shown in the screen shot below
    • Click Ok
    • Tools-->Options-->Enable "Apply commissions to PnL calculations"

Commission can be included in your PnL calculations provided you have correctly configured NinjaTrader. Commission values can be defined for each connectivity provider per instrument and per instrument type.

Commission values are used in the following order:
    • From the instrument if a commission value has been defined else
    • From the instrument type if a commission value has been defined else
    • No value is used since none have been defined
Please follow the instructions below to define commission values per instrument type:
    • From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
    • Select the tab "Commission"
    • Click here for details on defining a commission values
Please follow the instructions below to define commission values per instrument:
    • From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu
    • Tools > Instrument Manager
    • Double click on the instrument you wish to add a commission value for
    • Click on the "Misc" tab
    • Click here for details on defining a commission values
    • Critical: Ensure that 'Apply commission to PnL calculations' is enabled under Tools > Options > General tab.

Yes, you can generate a report within the Account Performance tab for a specfic period of time.

I have provided a link below to our Help Guide that goes over the Account Performance tab.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Thanks for the information, this is very helpful.

So, if my commission structure is based on monthly volume, for e.g,
      1. 0-500 roundturns, $4.40 per roundturn.
      2. 501-5000 roundturns, $3.95 per roundturn.

Is it possible to configure this logic ?
If it is possible, then Is it possible to have it reset at the end of the month so that if i have trader, say 1000 routndturns in a given month, then it reverts to the higher rate ($4.40 per roundturn) at the start of every month ?

      Thanks,
      sm

Unfortunately this is not supported at this time within NinjaTrader. If you would like you could set your commissions as an average.
