QC2NT - Software connecting NT with QuoteCenter

    hi folks,
i have build a small app which connects NinjaTrader with QuoteCenter in RT.

you can download the app from the below link
Building innovative tools for the stock market

do read the online help files on how to configure the app with qc.

hopefully it will prove helpful to users of QuoteCenter and NinjaTrader.

    your feedback is highly appreciated.

    cheers

      Hi bukkan,

Ironically I just cancelled my MS subscription as I couldn't justify that and my IQFeed subscription which I needed for backfill data on Ninja. Can you tell me if your app is using COM, DDE or whatever and how is the latency? Is it getting tick data correctly? Thanks!

        hi MXASJ,
its using dde to get the data from QC and transmitting the data to NT using the ninjatrader client dll.

latency and tick flow is not a big issue. i built the app on request from one of my fellow trader friend. he (and couple of other guys) are using it for sometimes and have not complained on that part.

        cheers

            Hi guys,

sorry to ask the boring question, but I've tried to install this application as I'm a quotecenter subscriber, but i still cannot get ninja to get the feed. I'm quite new to ninjy trader as well, would you be so kind to guide me through the process so that i can have the feed up and running?

much appreciated and thanks in advance

            best

                Hi bukkan,
I'm looking for a datavendor with broad coverage and historical
(ala eSignal). I'm not familiar with QuoteCenter. Your program
has to have a chart on for each symbol in the symbols.txt?
How about if you run Strategies from the Strategies tab only?
or, would it suffice if you have a Market Analyzer on with the Instrument List (instead of having charts on?)

Also, from your experience with QuoteCenter, is it stable over days?
Do you need to restart once a day ala Interactive Brokers?

                Thanks,

you have to open the charts for the data to save.

its always better to use esignal since its nt naitively supports the same. i essentially built the app for a guy who was trading mcx (commodities exchange here in India) and who was using qc since esignal dosnt provides data for mcx.

otherwise qc, being a reuters product is very stable, but sadly supports no other trading/charting platform except metastock.

                    bukkan,
                    Thanks for the reply

I'm monitoring many markets with Market Analyzer.
Too cumbersome too open so many charts,
but if I remember well, you have to open charts in TradeStation
as well to apply an indicator, with the External Data Feed option,

yes i know its cumbersome. but that has to do more with nt. if i am not wrong a request for saving data while monitoring in market analyzer is already pending with NT.

                        Interesting,
                        I'm using NT7 . I f you click the Market Analyzer and
press CTRL+SHIFT+R it RELOADS ALL. I also added a simple indicator which updates 1' in the MA template

So, maybe you don't need the charts?
