    midnights bars, NT or provider?

    Hi

I'm using zenfire right now. On a 6E 15mn, the chart goes from 23:00 to 0:00 and sometimes from 23:00 to 0:15. (it's the same for other instrument)
    Is it NT or Zen?
Whether it is NT or Zen, is there a setting to fix it, and what sort of error GetBar(23:45) is throwing?

    Thanks.

rGQRGs7, I'm not sure I follow, checked my 6E chart here and could not see the issue you describe, are you perhaps missing bars that could be fixed through a redownload of historical data (just right click in the chart > Reload)?

      Heck, it's not working.
      I took two screenshots:

Thanks, can you please let me on which dates this was? Please try deleting all historical data for the 6E under Tools > Historical Data > Delete, then redownload a complete fresh set and compare.

          It was last night.
I've deleted all the historical data. a new bar appeared, from 00:00 to 00:015(screenshot). But still nothing between 23:00 and 00:00.

            Hi rGQRGs7,

            Thank you for your reply.

What version of NinjaTrader are you running?

Do you see this issue on any other instruments?

rGQRGs7, which timezone are you in? There's no trading in the 6E from 4 pm to 5 pm CST - http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/fx/f...fications.html

Yes, on 6E, ES for example. also the error can be different. On ES for instance, the 23:45 is missing.
For the time being, how can i handle the GetBar(time not here)?

                      Hi rGQRGs7,

                      Thank you for your reply.

All is well then? We can consider the matter closed?

                        Thanks, not quite,
I need something which checks that a bar is there and at the right time(the indicator must work regardless of the instrument).
                        if(GetBar(time=during it's closed)==errorType)
                        what is the errorType?

Not sure what you mean by that code snippet. Where did you get that from?

The number of bars in a trading day may not be constant for minute chart because it's the end of week, because the market is closed, because NT wants the historical data deleted or whatever reason. So i need to know if there is a bar for some time t.
                            If i do a getbar(t) but t doesn't refer to a bar, it won't work.
How can i first check if the bar exist a time t?
                            I haven't tried, but would a try/catch work(i can't code here).

Still not following you. A minute chart would never look any different just because it is the end of the week. The trading session has a set number of minutes. Each minute = a bar. That doesn't change just because the week is ending or the market is closed. NT never deletes historical data unless you specifically go to Tools->Historical Data->Delete.

GetBar() on a time that doesn't exist does work. It just returns you the default value to signify nothing was found.

From the Help Guide article on GetBar().
"If the time stamp passed in is older than the 1st bar, the value returned reflects the number of bars ago for the 1st bar of the series. If the time stamp is newer than the last bar, a value of zero is returned."
