License question about simulation & free version

Hello,

we are a small project group, which are writing a trading simulation (which will for a closed group).
The server part is mainly finished and a web based client is currently being worked on, the communication is via FIX (implemented with QuickFix/J). As we are looking for having also an access with an external app, I found that Ninjatrader can do FIX orders via a plugin from TT.
My question is: is it possible to use the Free Version from Ninjatrader for this ?
As it is a free and non-profit (and open source) project, our users would not willing/able to spend any money on this.

I'm not sure I completely understand. However, you can use NT with a free license for everything except live trading. They have exactly the same functionality otherwise.

thanks for the answer.
Well, the question is, what "live" trading means. The broker/stock exchange will be a simulation system with no connection to any real markets or real tickers/shares.
But the client should be able to send/receive orders to this server.

Hello,

You can do everything except send real money orders (live orders) with the free license key. You will need real-time (not live) streaming data though.
