    Upgrading to latest Version?

    Hi,

    I'm currently running NT 6.5.1000.9 (live) however i have noticed on the forum that newer versions are available.

    How do I know when a new release is available?

    Should I be updating on newer versions?

    Are there release notes on the chnages that have been made, to decide whether to upgrade or not?

    Shouldn't any new release be emailed to all owners? I constantly get emails from NT about new partners but nothing to do with enhancements/upgrades etc regarding NT6.5

    You will receive a pop up message when you start the software that informs of a new version. Could it be you disabled this pop up window?

    Yes, please have the latest version installed.

      Thanks for the quick reply. I must have disabled the pop up window, how do i re-enable?

      After reading the release notes, it seems that none of the changes directly affect my use of NT, is it still advisable to upgrade even though the changes won't benefit my use of NT?

        Yes, we recommend to have the latest version installed.

        Unfortunately you cannot re-enable it. Once you a new version is released you should receive a new pop up message when you start NinjaTrader.

        You can try the following. Install version 1000.13 instead of 1000.14. Check if you receive the pop up window when you start 1000.13 for the first time.

          Couple of days ago I've upgraded 6.5.1000.13 version to 6.5.1000.14 and it seems that NT runs slower now. I mean that on fast market movements I've got slower charting. Is it possible? How can I downgrade to the previous version?

            Hello curious,

            Upgrading versions should not cause NinjaTrader to run slower.

            If you experience slowness of the software, please reduce resource request and check if this will make a difference.

            Check if you are running workspaces in the background (these will request data & resources as well) and close them. Can you please restart NinjaTrader and go to File-->Workspaces and check what workspaces are listed below 'Save Workspace As'. The workspace with the checkmark is the workspace opened on your monitor. Any additional workspaces listed, are opened in the background.

            Select a workspace without a checkmark and subsequently go to File-->Workspaces-->Close Workspace. Repeat this process until only one workspace is opened.

            Close some charts, SuperDOM's or other NinjaTrader windows. Reduce the amount of indicators in your chart or set 'Calculate on bar close' to True. Reduce the amount of historical data in your charts by configuring the Format Data Series window.
