    Margin setup for simulator

Can somebody please tell me how I can setup the simulator tab to allow me to only buy or short no more than 3 YM futures contracts. I can set it up to force no more than 3 buys but for some reason I can short 7 contracts!! Help also has no description for margin and margin maintenance. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Peter

    Hello Peter,

Unfortunately you will need to test the sim101 account settings yourself and check what works for you. This is a 'grey' area where NinjaTrader tries to find a reasonable approach. Please see the forum thread below for more information.

      Hi,
I got a message that account equity was exceeded
I'm on Gain Demo and Sim 101.
Would a setup of 9,999,999,999 as Initial Cash, margin and
maintenance margin of 0.01 and margin/unit set to 0 circumvent
      this problem?

      Thanks,

I am not sure. I suggest to use a large amount for 'Initial cash' and leave all other options to default and the check if the error persists.

          Hi ,
is there a way to pick a message on the log
"Order has exceeded available account equity" (green color)
          and send an email message?

          Thanks,

Well the thing is that that there are no entries under
the Accounts tab in order to monitor the Margin/ net Liquidation
parameters (I'm on Sim101). Is there some Option to be set?

              Thanks,

Unfortunately this is not supported as per the sim101 account. Only Cash Value and Realized PnL is reflected under the Accounts-tab.

Funny thing, I don't see any entry for any accounts under the Accounts
tab. Did I miss to set up an option on setup?

                  Thanks,

Could it be you are not connected to a data feed?

Please connect to a data feed and check again.

I tested it on my end and I display values as expected, see screenshot.

Could you please restart NinjaTrader and check again.

                          Thanks I'll try that,
Also, if someone would have to grab titles of windows that
message that the application has crashed for any reason
in order the scheduler to sent an email, what would we be
                          looking for?
(sort of "the application has crashed and NT would need to restart itself")

                          thanks,

Is there a method that will be triggered if NT crashes,
so that we pick up to send an email, sthg like
                              the OnConnectionStatus.Disconnected Sendemail(....)

                              Thanks,
