    Ninja closed a message box from IB...

    Hi,

    When Ninja received a order notice from TradeStation, it automates the order to Interactive Broker, then IB showed up a message box and Ninja closed the message box very quickly, so I can't see the message clearly. Afterwards I found the following in the log:

    Order Event Warning:Attribute 'Outside Regular Trading Hours' is ignored based on the order type and destination. PlaceOrder is now being processed. 2109

    What does it mean?
    Does Ninja always close IB's message box automatically?

    Hello Raymond,

    The error message is not related to the pop up window that was closed. The error message is related to your default order settings in TWS.

    Please go to Tools-->Account Connections, highlight your IB connection and click Change. Check if you have 'Run-time pop up handling' enabled. If so, disable the option and check if the behavior persists.

      Ok, I understand. But I am still curious why it showed "'Outside Regular Trading Hours' is ignored"?? As the order is placed inside regular trading hours.

        The error message comes from IB. I suggest to contact them for more clarification.

          Which part of the message come from IB ??

                IB messages are coming from the IB TWS API.

                  Hi,

                  I already contacted IB's support, here is the response from them, just for your information:

                  Essentially when you trade using the API there is an Order Attribute OutsideRTH that you can tag to an order to allow the order to be placed outside of regular trading hours.

                  When an order has this attributed tagged to the order and is being traded during regular trading hours our system detects this attribute and raise a flag with a warning response. Basically letting you know this flag is being ignored and the order is being placed now.

                  In reality it causes no affect to your order. Most API customers either filter there messages to ignore this flag or just include this attribute to the order only when an order is being placed outside of RTH.
