Changing default NinjaTrader "My Documents" location

    Hi

Is it possible to change the NinjaTrader data storage location from the default "My Documents" to another place?

I would like to place all NT-related files/folders (program and data) in a ramdisk and haven't been able to find any info on how to change the default data location.

    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to our forums max789, unfortunately changing this is not supported.

      Thanks, Bertrand.

Would NT7 allow changing this default data location?

max789, I'm not aware of changes in this regard for NinjaTrader 7

          Pity, but thanks anyway, Bertrand.

Is there still time to make this a feature request for NT7? Or, if not in the near future, next year?

i would like to also support implementation of this feature.

I too, have a ramdisk and would like to run NT 7 completely off it, programs/logs and all.

              thanks

Just to update, I moved "My Documents" (incl. NT folders) to a ramdisk a few months ago. There's been a decent improvement in NT performance with less frequent hard drive reads/writes, since NT data now resides in ram.

Max789, how do you sync the ramdisk with the harddrive when you power down?

An image file of the ramdisk is created and saved automatically on the hard drive by the program before the computer shuts down each time.

Makes sense - what is the program? Have you got a URL?

                      Thanks

                        Bertrand,
One year and half later there are no followups about this idea that could cut some bottlenecks with NT7 in some circumstances.

I've posted a new thread here:

                            Hi Bertrand,

In practical terms what does this mean? There are 447 suggestions to be implemented before taking into consideration RAMdisk support for NT7?

Hi Paul, all suggestions are welcomed and taken seriously here though we could unfortunately not make comments about implementation or an ETA for various reasons.
