gold futures 10 Jan interactive brokers

I bought 1 unit of gold futures that expire in January (GC nymex) in interactive brokers
I loaded the corresponding chart , But in the chart I do not see the price changes and do not see profit/loss changes , I only see the line of entry price and the initial broker commission

In trader workstation I see the price changes and the profit/loss
I am subscribed to the gold futures data and receive it correctly in TWS

It seem like ninja trader cannot get the market data from gold futures that expire in January 2010

Please help

I am not sure if I follow; could you perhaps post a screenshot of your chart?

Am I correct the GC 01-10 chart does not contain any price bars?

Does ChartTrader indicate you are in a position or does it report as FLAT?

Chart does not contain any price bars
Chart trader indicates that I am in a position it shows the position size and direction, But the profit loss does not change - it shows the initial value which is the brokers commission

What happens if you close the current chart and create a new GC 01-10 chart?

Make sure the current date is reflected next to 'Last date' in the Format Data Series window.

if I create new chart - it displays exactly the same
the current date is reflected
I think it is something related to problem in data receiving - because maybe it is a contract that will expire only in jan 2010
If I open Dec expiring contact - I see the prices (though I did not buy this contact but the one that expires in Jan)

Can you please tell me what versions of TWS of NinjaTrader you have installed. You can check this at Help-->About.

Make sure you have TWS 898 and NinjaTrader 6.5.1000.14 installed.

So you submitted an order to the GC 01-10, however it resulted in a position in the GC 12-09, correct?

where exactly do I change the merge policy?

Please check if you have TWS 898 installed at Help-->About (Traders WorkStation).

The workaround and merge policy is referring to NinjaTrader 7, see post #83.

You can see here - I attach screenshot
the contract that expires in December shows the price bars , while the contract that expires in January - does not , although we can see in both the A & B numbers changing in the chart trader field.
the smaller chart is the contract that expires in December

I tested the GC 01-10 on my end and I experience the same.

Please check the Last price in the upper left corner of the Control Center when the GC 01-10 is selected.

On my end it is reflected as 1104.3 as well as in TWS.

This causes price bars to be created as a stripes; the last price remains on the same price.

So there is no way to make ninja to display price bars and position profit/loss for a contract that expires not the most recent month?

Unfortunately that is not what I state. Test the ES 03-10 and it should display price bars.

NinjaTrader receives a last price of 1104.3, which is reflected in TWS as well, that remains the same.

This caused NinjaTrader minute charts to build stripes as 1 minute bars. I suggest to check with IB why price remains the same.
