    Forex History (eSignal)

I never noticed this before, but I can't get Minute history on GPB (and others) from Esignal prior to about 3/4/09 (charts, Strat Analyzer, etc). Esignal says they have the data and it may be an NT problem.
Am I missing a settings somewhere that needs to be changed?

    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hello Jim,

    Thank you for your post.

    Which instrument(s) / interval(s) have you tested?

ES ##-## goes back to 02/17/2009
      EURUSD goes back to 04/29/2009
      AUDUSD goes back to 05/29/2009

I have tried the repair and reset db, but still no luck (and rebooted).
      Version 6.5.1000.14 (Live)

Tried it on two machines and it does the same thing on both of them.

      1, 5, 15, 60 minute have problems
Daily and higher frames seem to work fine

        Hello,

Can you please reset your instruments and then recreate the forex charts. To reset your instruments please: go to the Tools menu, select the Options menu item, select the Misc tab, and then click on 'Reset Instruments'.

When creating a new chart please make sure that you specify the length of the historical data that you would like to see, either using the days back or by specifying a beginning date.

If the issue persists can you please test this issue with a tick chart to see how far the historical data goes back.

After reseting the instruments, then restarting the computer I was able to get another 30 days of data more than last time. However, I can not get a full year of data. Tried the tick charts for ES and GPB, and if I wait for a long time, I can get 60 days of data on a 150 tick GBP chart. While waiting, I get a lot of popups for "Loading Data..."

Also when asking for this long in tick charts I get "System.OutOfMemoryException" errors thrown (NT at about 1GB of RAM in use).

            Hello jrs,

The out-of-memory exception indicates NinjaTrader requests too much resources from your PC.

Please reduce data request. I suggest to load one chart at a time, so ensure only one chart is opened when you connect to your data feed.

Once all data is loaded in one chart, open up a second chart and check if all data is loaded.

Good idea, however, I am only using one chart. Only thing open is the Control Center and 1 each 5 minute chart of GBP. This is where it will not go back with 1 year of data. When I try to obtain too much tick data, it gives the Out of memory exception.

I suggest to load the historical data in steps. Load first 30 days of historical tick data. Modify the Format Data Series window to include 60 days and check if all data is loaded and so on.

Please have no indicators applied in the chart as well. Apply them once all data is loaded in your chart.

It will not go back past 2/9/09 regardless of how I try and load it.
Correct, I am trying to load it bare, nothing applied, no indicators, no strategies.
Tried it with Tick and Minute data, does not exceed 2/9.
                  Any other suggestions?

                    Hi jrs,

                    Thank you for your reply.

I am able to load as far back as 6/2/2009 when I test using GBPUSD in a minute interval.

Please check the log tab of the Control Center. Are you seeing out of memory errors?
