Gaps in Chart times and 3 hours late

I saved the attached chart from NT 6.5 demo at 2.33 a.m. EST and counting the 10 minute bars the Chart time shows it as being about 23:40.
I presume this is Mountain or Pacific Time or I'm seeing data 3 hours old.
How do I get this to show the EST or at least the exchange time?
The second problem is that I requested 2 days data for the chart and I got this huge time gap and missing data from about 7:40 a.m. to 22:50.
How can anybody trade when your seeing this kind of time crazy chart. What is with this NinjaTrader demo, is it the Lite version or full of bugs?

      Hello techanal,

Can you please tell me what data feed provider you connect to in NinjaTrader.

Please double click the chart and check what session begin and end times the chart uses.

Subsequently right click in the chart and select 'Reload Historical Data'. Do you see any changes?

Gaps in Chart times and 3 hours late

        Hi Jason,

My data feed is from Zen-Fire.
The start and stop times are both 12:00 am.
When reloading history the chart goes blank for a second but does not change.
Now, when I connect to Zen-Fire and bring up any saved workspace they have no volume or price activity occuring. In short, it's like looking at photo graphs, they never change.

          Hello,

I'm not sure what is causing this but try this:
Please delete your historical data for this instrument with the instructions provided below:
          • Select the Tools menu
          • Select the "Historical Data" menu item
          • Select "Delete" menu item
          • Delete the applicable data
Once the data has been deleted open a new chart and let us know if the data backfills correctly.

Gaps in Chart times and 3 hours late

            Hi Ben,

Thanks for the response but I already deleted the charts I had and rebuilt them with current data.
However, when I create a new chart and go back several days to that time frame then everything is there. So, I presume it is now OK.
If anyone can now tell me how to get the time scale at the bottom of my charts to synchronize with my time zone that would be appreciated.
            TIA

              Hello techanal,

Do you receive real-time data in your charts? If not, make sure 'Last date' in the Format Data Series window of the chart is set to the current date.

The time in your charts should resemble the time of your PC clock.

Please check the time stamp of the current price bar and the current time of your PC clock. Note that NinjaTrader time stamps its bars at the close.

Chart is hours later than actual time

                Hi Jason,

I reset my PC time, date was OK, and rebooted. Cleared app history and reloaded history. I'm still behind, but it's not by 3 hours, it's 4 hours. Yes, the Zen-Fire data feed is live. I'm giving up this is using up too much of my time..

                Thanks,
                techanal

                  Hello techanal,

It should work; when I test it on my end the time is in synch.

Are you sure the charts receive real-time data; do you see the last price change in the chart?

Perhaps you can test of a different PC?

Chart time data feed, live or late.

                    Hi Jason,

I would expect you guys to be able to tell me if the demo is a live feed or not. I am now suspecting it is several hours late coming from Zen-Fire. To confirm this maybe you can bring up your live feed on December Gold Futures "GC 12-09" and check your price on a 1 minute chart at noon on Nov 24th. My chart shows the price closed just about $1169.2 what does yours show? What does it show at 16:00 hours?

                    TIA

                      Hello techanal,

Zen-Fire is a live feed, even if you use a demo connection. See the attached screenshot that the times resemble on my end.

My PC is set to US Mountain Time.

It lists 1165.1 at noon and 1169.6 at 4 PM.

                        Hi Jason,

Your 4 PM price is about the same as my Noon price. That indicates to me that unless I set my computer to Mountain time I will always be several hours out of sync on my chart times and out of sync with my time zone.

Why NT would use Mountain time is crazy as most of the North American market activity is done on Chicago or New York exchanges and should use one of those time zones. These exchanges are taking lunch breaks while the folks on Mountain time are having breakfast. Are there even any markets in the Mountain time zone? No answer required.

                        Thanks,
                        techanal
