How To Add Trailing Stop to Open Position?

How can I add a trailing stop to an existing open position? I.e., I am in a trade and then decide I want to use a trailing stop to automatically exit the trade if it is hit. I have ATM strategies that use auto trail to set trailing stops, but those seem dependent on selecting a trailing stop strategy before entering the trade.

My apologies for this newbie question, but I've looked without success for an answer in NT's documentation and support forums. I assume there's a simple solution to this, and I'd appreciate any guidance from experienced NT users.

A followup question: if a trailing stop is working through an ATM auto trail strategy, can I modify the auto trail parameters on the fly, for example if I want to tighten the trailing stop?

Hello Turtle21,

Yes, this is possible.

Please right click the stop loss in the Sell column when Long (Buy column when Short) and uncheck the AutoTrail.

Right click again and select AutoTrail Properties and modify the strategy accordingly.

Right click once more and enable the AutoTrail again.
