nothing happens?

hi,

i've created a working connection to yahoo - daily chart of ^djia works fine.

now i wanted to backtest the sample ma crossover on ^djia but nothing happens - no trades are executed within the last 17 yrs?!

what could be wrong?

Thank you for your post.

When backtesting and setting the parameters for MA crossover you will want to make sure you specify daily as the data series type.

thanks for your quick reply!

the data series type is set to "day".

actually i restarted nt, connected to yahoo, verified the chart data for ^djia and then tried "new backtest" on djia, changed the defaults from minute to daily period and start to jan 2009. no errormsg, but also no trades.

what else could be wrong?

Can you test your strategy on another instrument rather than an index and see if you get any executions.

just tried it on AA - nothing happens. is there setting to increase the loglevel?

When sending an email please also reference this forum post, and if possible can you please include your log and trace files for today's date.

Trace files will be located by going to My Documents->NinjaTrader 6.5->Trace-> trace.2009xxxx.txt
Log files will be located by going to My Documents->NinjaTrader 6.5->Log->log.2009xxxx.txt
