    Add LSMA Indicator?

Is is possible to add the LSMA indicator to future version of Ninja Trader? Thank you.

    Hello Flash,

    Thank you for your post.

I will forward this request on to my development team for further consideration.

In the meantime, it would be possible to create this indicator through custom programming.
If you are not a programmer, any of the NinjaScript consultants listed at the following link could code this project for you: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/pa...injaScript.htm

      Lsma

Thanks. Is there an LSMA already available as a script? I've used many charting packages, keeping up with WoodiesCCI CLub over the years, and Ninja is the first to not have the LSMA available as a canned indicator.

        Hi Flash,

        Thank you for your reply.

No, unfortunately this indicator is not included. Likewise, I was not able to find a free indicator of this type anywhere else on our support forum.

LSMA, Least Squares Moving Average, is really a misnomer. It's just the LinReg indicator.

          Hope this helps.

            Hi VTtrader,

            Thank you for posting this.

LinReg is an indicator included with NinjaTrader by default.

            Flash:
LinReg should be what you are looking for.

It would be really nice if this type of data were added to the Help file, so someone who didn't know that LSMA = Linreg would find this out if they search for it in the NinjaTrader help.

This should become especially apparent if one searches the forums for "LSMA" as the fact that an "LSMA" is the same as a "Linreg" has been mentioned numerous times going all the way back to 2006 -- see link.)

So, is anyone at NinjaLand monitoring the forums and adding these choice tidbits into the help?

I'd think this would be a [possibly-very] cost-effective way to reduce the load on NinjaTrader's support staff.

                Hello KBJ,

I will forward your suggestion to our development team and ask them if they can add this to the list of future considerations.

                Thank you for your feedback.

                  Jason, Thanks for your response.

However, perhaps you missed this part:

A simple "yes" or "no" would suffice.

                        Hello mkaminski,

Thank you for your forum post.

The LineReg indicator that comes pre-installed with NinjaTrader will have the same logic as the LSMA indicator.

With that being said, I will check with development on the status of this feature request and update this thread with the tracking ID#.
