No Chart for Cotton #2 (Ticker: CT)

I went into the Instrument Manager and selected the front month for Cotton #2 futures ("CT") but nothing shows up in the chart. Even when I changed the default exchange from NYBOT to ICE (by manually adding it), I get nothing but an error indicating that "NinjaTrader data server does not support this instrument...". On that note, am I wrong to assume that NYBOT and ICE are one and the same?

    How can I access CT?

    Hello saliva,

Can you please tell me what data feed provider you connect to in NinjaTrader.

Am I corrrect you receive real-time data for the CT 03-10, but no historical data?

Unfortunately the historical data server your data feed makes use of, does not support the CT instrument.

      Hi,

I get my data feed from Zenfire. As to the latter question, I was referring to the real-time quotes since I already know that Zenfire doesn't support historical data. Having said that, I'm having trouble accessing those instruments that trade on ICE exchange. BTW what's the symbol for Russell 2000? ER2 doesn't work!

      Thanks.

        Hello saliva,

The ER2 instrument stopped trading several months ago and is replaced by the TF instrument.

I am able to receive CT 03-10 real-time data on my end while connected to Zen-Fire.

Can you please try the following steps.

Remove the CT 03-10 from the default instrument list in the Instrument Manager.

Go to Tools-->Options-->Misc-tab and click Reset Instruments.

Add the CT 03-10 back and check if you receive data.

          Thanks for the reply,

I have followed as you suggested but still a no go. As you can see from the attachment, the chart remains a big black hole.

            Hello Saliva,

            Thank you for the screenshot.

Based on the price scale of the chart it appears you are receiving real-time data for the CT contract.

With Zen-Fire you will not receive historical data for that contract since the NinjaTrader servers do not support historical data for this instrument.

Can you please open a SuperDOM and view the CT contract and please let us know if you receive real-time data.

              Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the additional suggestion. It appears that I am able to get the data after all, as you can clearly see them in the Super DOM. Just why it refuses to show up on the chart is beyond me. I look forward to getting this resolved soon.

                Hello,

I'm jumping in here but I do not think anyone has suggested this yet:
Please delete your historical data for this instrument with the instructions provided below:
                • Select the Tools menu
                • Select the "Historical Data" menu item
                • Select "Delete" menu item
                • Delete the applicable data

Then add it using on the fly so the mapping goes in with the default values:
Please delete any instruments you have added by going to Tools>Instrument Manager>select the instrument you added on the master list on the right>Delete.

                Now:

                - Open a DOM

                - Type the symbol of the instrument into the instrument field

Then open a new chart and try it again.

Many thanks. That seemed to have done the trick. The chart is finally scrolling by as fresh data is coming in.

BTW, I was told by a support rep at Zenfire that they are not the one who stores the historical data. If true, why isn't Ninjatrader storing and providing historical data for CT?

                    Hello saliva,

                    Thank you for your reply.

NinjaTrader stores the most commonly traded instruments on our historical data server. I will forward a request to my development team to add this instrument to the list.
