Market Analyzer = Level 1 TDA Strategy Desk Screener (?)

    Hello Everyone,

I am very new to NinjaTrader and still trying to understand basics. After watching your videos and reading handouts, still have a lot of questions....

If I understand correctly Market Analyzer is a sort of market screening tool, but how can I screen all available symbols (from NYSE, AMEX, NASDAQ) based on some criteria I have pre-defined, like all stocks priced less than 10 dollars, or all stocks that closed yesterday higher than a day ago, or stocks that opened today higher than yesterday close? I am doing it right now manually using ameritrade strategy desk Level 1 screener. How Ninjatrader can help me to automate this work...?

Am I asking something totally stupid?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

You can do this by setting up a filter. This link will help:

      Hello Ben,

      Thanks for your response.
I checked this filtering option which is good but quite limited.
Let me rephrase my question a bit -

Is it possible to automate trade for more than 1 instrument (1 stock symbol)? How many? Can I trade 10? 100? or even 1000? instruments (stocks) simultaneously?

Lets say I have a strategy and I want the system to screen all possible instruments (around 5000 intruments) and apply strategy to those that qualify? It could be that from those 5000 only 1 or 2 qualify and the system should trade only those.

I dob't see how filtering could help me with my question. Could you please help?
      Thanks!

macadm, with NinjaTrader it currently isn't possible to continously scan the market and then selectively apply strategies to instruments that fit your criteria. To run a strategy on 1000 instruments, you'd need to create and run 1000 strategies, not just apply a strategy to the market analyzer window (which isn't possible). Thank you for understanding.
