    amount of time historical data is kept

    Does NT keep historical tick data until I manually delete it, or does it remove data once a specific limit is reached, either total database size, or time, etc?

    For example, I reloaded a lot of data for a particular equity, and then haven't accessed the data in a while. In the mean time, I've reloaded a bunch of data for other equities (a year's worth of ticks, for example).

    I need to export the first equity's data again but I haven't accessed this data in a while, and I'm wondering if I need to refetch all the data or if I can just export it?

    Thank you for your post.

    If you have downloaded historical data into the NinjaTrader database then that data will not be overwritten unless you actively delete it.

    So, the data should still be accessible within the NinjaTrader database.

        Is there a maximum (in size) that the NT 7.0 database has?

        I'm not having troubles with the database in anyway, but I'm just curious if there is a limit in the database size because I've read on a other forum that the limit is 4 GB.

          Thank you for your post.

          I am not aware of any functional limitations in database size. We did see in the previous version of NinjaTrader practical limitations once you got around the size you mentioned, so there may be issues.

          However, we have changed the database technology with NinjaTrader 7, and those types of issues should be resolved.
