    Error - Unable to connect to database

    Support,

    I am using latest Ninja 6.5 on Vista 32 bit. I am getting below error on starting Ninja. Please see attached files:

    Is there anyway to solve this error. I searched on similar threads and saw one suggested option was to rename the .mdb file.

    When one renames the .mdb file,will one loose all workpaces and templates as well ?

    I renamed the db file and ninja started fine. Thank you.

    Hello mmtrader,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Unfortunately, no automated method exists. You would need to record the settings and recreate the instruments within the new database manually.

    Thanks Kyle. Anyway to save the instruments data from Instrument manager ,..to save any custom instruments?

    Hello mmtrader,

    Thank you for your post.

    I would also recommend renaming the NinjaTrader database.


    Please rename your database using the steps listed below. This will cause NinjaTrader to create a new database. Because of this, historical chart data will need to be reloaded. Likewise, ATM strategies, custom instruments and instrument lists will need to be recreated.


    Your chart templates and workspaces will remain intact as they are stored elsewhere.



    To rename the DB:
    • Shutdown NinjaTrader and Go to the Start Menu
    • Select My Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> DB--> NinjaTrader.MDB.
    • Right click on NinjaTrader.MDB and select "Rename."
    • Name it "NewNinjaTrader.MDB."
    • Then restart the software.
