NT won't load historical data from IB

    NT won't load historical data from IB

    It's as simple as that. It does show realtime data, and leaves a trail of historical data as it goes.

    Also, is there a way to just enter the complete IB symbol like it's supposed to be entered? Like ES is really ES-201003-GLOBEX, eurusd is EUR.USD-CASH-IDEALPRO, etc.

    make sure you didn't tick the option "do not load historical data" in the connection properties

        Hi,

        What version of TWS are you using? You need to be on TWS 900. In addition, check for NinjaTrader if you're on V6.5.1000.14 which can be checked under Help--> About.

        If you're not on TWS 900, please install from our website here:


        If you have this set up, try Tools--> Historical Data--> Reload.

          so if I'm using TWS Build 901.8 it won't work?

            It might work, but we don't support this set up so if you run into issues we can't provide assistance and you would be on your own.

              Downgraded to tws 900 and tried again. still doesn't work. NT has no problem loading historical data from MB trading, but it won't from IB.

                As for IB, have you followed the instructions for the set up after downgrading? Please check them one more time to see if you didn't miss anything:


                In addition, what instrument with what interval are you looking at?

                What happens if you try Tools--> Historical Data--> Reload?

                  I have a forex only account with mb trading, historical data may be a quirk that their universal account doesn't have. not sure.

                  as for the IB historical data, I finally got it to load. after downgrading to tws 900, and rebooting (all my settings from the previous install were still intact even after system reboot). After all that, I kept trying to load data repeatedly, to no effect. But right after some weird error pop up popped up for the first time, it finally began to work.

                    Not sure if this is expected with the FX account.
