    Import data with bond data

I did not see an example in your help when importing bond prices. My sample file called ZB 03-10.txt using 1 minute data:

    20100122 110000;118'16;118'17;118'14;118'15;1898
    20100122 110100;118'15;118'17;118'13;118'15;2441
    20100122 110200;118'16;118'17;118'15;118'15;671
    .....more data in between.....
    20100126 135200;118'12;118'13;118'12;118'13;130
    20100126 135300;118'13;118'13;118'13;118'13;17
    20100126 135400;118'12;118'12;118'12;118'12;167
    20100126 135600;118'11;118'11;118'11;118'11;3
    20100126 135700;118'11;118'11;118'11;118'11;51
    20100126 135800;118'12;118'12;118'11;118'11;237
    20100126 140000;118'11;118'11;118'09;118'09;917
    20100126 140100;118'10;118'10;118'10;118'10;198
    20100126 140200;118'10;118'10;118'10;118'10;2

    I get an error:

ZB 03-10: Format error in line 1: Input string was not in a correct format.: '20100122 110000;118'16;118'17;118'14;118'15;1898'
    Any ideas?

    Hello chrismicci,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader support forum!

Your example shows the data in this format:

    "20100122 110000;118'16;118'17;118'14;118'15;1898"

However, the data needs to be in this format:
    "20100122 110000;118.16;118.17;118.14;118.15;1898"

So, the file needs to be reformatted for NinjaTrader using the format shown above. Before modifying your whole file, split out 20 or so lines and make the change there then import the data to make sure you are using the correct format.

Thanks, will just use Notepad to replace all " ' " with periods. Simple fix for me.

I am trying to import ZB bond data I exported from Ninjatrader 6 (it did not make the transition to 6.5 and into 7). I have a file ZB 03-08 of the form:
        20080201 000100;119 20/32;119 20/32;119 20/32;119 20/32;1

How do I get this into NT 7? Do I have to write a script to convert to decimal? I notice NT 6.5 exported in decimal (e.g. 18'15 would get written out as 18 15/32 in NT 6, but 18.46875 in NT 6.5).
        Thanks.

          Hello zstheorist,

You will need to make sure the format of the data is the same as listed at the link below.

20/32 is not valid as per NinjaTrader 7.

You will need to replace those values by decimals values in order to import the data in NinjaTrader 7.

            Thanks

OK, that is what I thought, I just wanted to check before I embarked on a long odyssey. For anyone else that has old NT 6 backup data lying around, I plan to convert in excel. VB scripts are fairly easy to write. If my data were on a unix machine, I'd probably use a sed script.

            Thank you for the confirmation.
